Ivan Gabal
Executive Director and Owner of the company
Read sociology and cultural theory at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague, graduated in 1975, PhD in 1978. From 1978 to 1989 he worked at the Institute for Philosophy and Sociology of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, where he specialized in empirical analyses of lifestyle, educational and social mobility.
In November 1989 he became a member of the Civic Forum (the democratic political movement). In 1990 he was the election campaign manager of the Civic Forum and also acted as consultant in the election campaign for the Public against Violence movement in Slovakia. In 1991 he was the Director of the Department of Political Analyses in the Office of the President of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic. In 1992 he was again the election campaign manager, this time for the Civic Movement.
Later he became a partner in the AISA Research Agency.
Since 1994 he has worked exclusively in Gabal, Analysis & Consulting and GAC respectively, which is specialising in sociological, communication and political analyses and development strategies.
In addition, he has been involved in several NGOs and endowments most recently the Nova Škola (www.novaskola.org). Between 1999-2003 he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Masaryk University in Brno. He has published hundreds of articles in Czech as well as foreign newspapaers and magazines since 1995.
Eva Bělinová
Project Manager
Between 1996 and 1999 studied a Bachelor course of the International Territory Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences (Charles University). A year youth intercultural programme in the USA followed. She completed her Master degree in American studies at the same faculty in June 2002 with a dissertation dealing with the U. S. - South African relations in the 1970s and the1980s, particularly with the development and political consequences of the anti-apartheid movement in the USA. She has been to South Africa several times.
She worked for the British Council and the Prague information service as a tour-guide during her studies.
Holding the position of the Project Manager she is responsible for the consultations and applications for the EU Structural Funds. Besides other topics she is also responsible for the education projects. From time to time she publishes in Lide a Zeme or other geographical magazines.

Lenka Kadeřávková
Office Manager
Lenka graduated in Commercial Law at the European Polytechnical Institute, Ltd. in 1998.
She studies at the The University of Economics and Management: Communication and Human Resources, specializing in Commercial Law and Business since 2007.
She has worked for the company as Office Manager since 2002. She is responsible for contracts and financial matters of all projects.

Karel Čada
Senior Researcher
He completed his Master degree in Sociology at the Charles University (Faculty of Social Sciences) in September 2006 with dissertation focused on the discussion of truthfulness of Secret police's archives in the Czech Republic. Between September 2004 and January 2005 he studied at the University of Glamorgan in the Great Britain. He worked for the Czech News Agency (ČTK) as journalist focused on public health and social issues between 2005 and 2007.
Since 2007 he has been studying a Ph.D. course of sociology at the Charles University. He teaches the Introduction to Media Analysis at the Palacky University Olomouc on the external basis.
Holding the position of the Senior Researcher he is responsible for the quantitative methodology and analysis (SPSS software) and communication with media. Among his interests there are local government, media and public policy.

Jan Snopek
Senior Researcher
Between 1999 and 2005 studied social and cultural anthropology at the Faculty of Arts, West-Bohemian University in Plzeň. His Master dissertation was devoted to the topic of construction of gender relations and identities in the environment of the Prague graffiti scene. In 2001-2002 he studied at the Ludwig Uhlands Institut for Empirical Cultural Studies, Eberhard Karls Universität in Tübingen, Germany. Since 2007 he has been studying a Ph.D. course of anthropology at the Charles University. He started to work as a research assistant for the GAC in October 2005.
Holding the position of the Senior Researcher he is responsible for research in the field of social exclusion.

Jiří Chvátal
Junior Researcher
Studied a Bachelor's programme of Political sciences at the University of Hradec Králové between 2000-2003. He successfully defended his Democracy and 'identity': a study of relations on the example of African American Civil rights movement thesis and completed the studies of Political science, receiveing a Master degree at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague, in 2006. He also read Bachelor's programme of Sociology and Social Politics at the same university between 2004-2007 (Durkheim and Pragmatism: Two Approaches to the Intelligibility of the Social World being the title of his thesis).
He works as a Junior Researcher in qualitative and quantitave data collection and analysis. In addition, he is responsible for graphical presentation of GAC and our work.

Kateřina Ptáčková
Consultant
Graduated in Sociology and Social policy (Bachelor Studies) and Economic and Political Sociology (Master Studies) at the Charles University of Prague. In 2007 she obtained her PhDr. degree.
Between 2003 and 2007 she worked for the GAC on permanent basis as a Junior Researcher. Currently she cooperates with the GAC on an external basis.
Besides that she workes in the NGO sector (environmental issues).
